By the way….I always spoke French to Jean Beliveau. And he really appreciated it. He supported the primacy of the French language, as does vitlrtually every Quebecer, French or English. Would love to debate you on this.
Thanks so much for the comment, Andrew. Always love to e-chat. I agree, but always viewed him as a Federalist. He loved Canada as a nation. There will always be the charisma of the independence movement a la Quebec, but my sense (personally, mais oui) that the majority of Canadians love the country as a One, and not fractured politically, ideologically, or goodness, linguistically! ..Thanks again, Andrew. — GM
